Fynd på Ancestry

Translation of the letter fruther down.

Torarp June 28, 1915,
Dear Tilda!
Thank you for your letter.
Thank you for the good care you gave me. I have not answered you sooner so that I would be able to give you a more gratifying answer. The healing of my wound is coming along well but not more. It is now about an inch long. I got up on Midsummer's Eve and went outside a little without any discomfort, but a few drops of blood had seeped out, I also thought that the wound had widened but Emma ensured me that so was not the case, but then I sat down to be able to lay still until I could get up more securely.
Today I have been up most of the day but I cannot lean on the foot, I don't want the use it too much as long as the wound is open. Emma is at home apart for some hours a day when she ha work here in the village. Anna and Julius came home on Midsummer's Eve and left again on Midsummer's Day after Anna had been and heard the vicar Närbäck, something she has wanted to do since he came here. She liked his service a lot. I read the service of vicar Hyltén which he held in Bergunda church on Midsummer's Day. I thought it was rather good, it was, in my opinion, better than that of the Dean but you can think differently, both were in the paper (Smålandsposten).
Many, many, regards to you all, from your father.
P.S. Manne's horse is good but if he will get future issues nobody knows.
